Kristin earned an undergraduate degree with Honors in Elementary Education as well as a degree in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She received her Academically and Intellectually Gifted add-on licensure from Duke University. Kristin began her career in education teaching 5th grade at Parkwood elementary. Here she served as the grade level chair and was a part of various school committees including the School Improvement Team, Durham’s Leadership Learning Network, National Elementary Honors Society, and Multi-tiered Systems of Support Team. During her residency year, she will be at Brogden Middle School. At Brogden, Kristin led the 7th grade and the English Language Arts Department. She served on the Restorative Justice Team working with the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color, the Multi-tiered Systems of Support Team, and the School Improvement Team.
